Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actress working in television and film, is most well-known for her roles in films like Rush as well as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Since she was the sole child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra began her show business career at a young age. She played lead roles in TV dramas as young when she was just 16. After the critically-acclaimed performance in the TV film Der Tunnel, Alexandra went on to play other noteworthy characters like Adolf Hitler's secretary, Traudljunge, on Downfall. The film was nominated for an Oscar and was praised by critics. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are two other Oscar nominees featuring female stars. Alexandra was involved in numerous notable projects globally and nationally. This includes those of the British biographical Control Greek Drama film The Dust of Time and as French Historical Miniseries Napoleon. The actress also served on the jury at the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
