Alexandra Maria Lara has been a German/Romanian television actress for a long time. Alexandra is famous for her roles in Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Alexandra was the only daughter of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. When she was 16she already been offered a variety of television roles for instance, the lead in the film Downfall Youth without Youth Control. In the Oscar-nominated film Downfall her character as Secretary Traudljunge, Adolf Hitler's secretary was also critically acclaimed. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are also Oscar nominated features featuring female stars. Alexandra is well known for her participation in a variety of noteworthy projects both domestically as well as internationally. The projects include British biographical feature Control Greek dramatic film The Dust of Time French historical Miniseries Napoleon and many more. She was also on the jury of the Transylvania International Film Festival, as well as at the Cannes Film Festival.

She was captivated by acting when she was spotted by her drama teacher cutting through his yard so she could get to her field hockey class on time. Sarah took the decision to follow her passion for the art and educate herself by double majoring in English and theatre at Hamilton College performing in theater overseas in London as well as Oxford during her senior year. Her drama teacher spotted her slicing across the lawn as a way to not to get late for soccer practice, he instructed she to not practice and be part of the cast in Richard III and thus began her passion for acting. Sarah was captivated by acting seriously and chose to double majoring in English and theater at Hamilton College. She studied abroad at Oxford as well as London during her junior years and received the distinction of a magnacum-laude. After Hamilton her graduation, she attended Yale Drama School.
